Location. Dhevan Dara Resort & Spa, located in Hua Hin, Thailand, is eight kilometers (5.0 miles) from a golf course and elephant trekking, and 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from Hua Hin Beach.
Hotel Features. Dhevan Dara Resort & Spa, tucked into a garden setting, features a waterfall infinity pool. Amana Spa offers a variety of massage techniques, herbal and seaweed wraps and facials, salt scrubs, aromatherapy and reflexology. The spa is a secluded complex of six buildings built over a lagoon. A fitness center is also on site. The Restaurant at Dhevan Dara serves grilled seafood, barbecue and Thai cuisine during breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pool includes a poolside bar. Candlelit in-villa dinner service is also offered. Room service is delivered to most locations in the resort by canoe. Complimentary breakfasts are served daily. Wireless Internet access is available in public areas. Pets are not permitted in the resort.
Guestrooms. The resort's 85 ground-floor villas offer private gardens, and most include private pools and outdoor waterfall bathtubs. The thatched roof villas are decorated in contemporary Thai style and include white walls and bedding with richly-finished dark wood furnishings. Sandstone bathrooms include rain forest showers. Villas also include DVD players, complimentary wireless Internet access and direct-dial phones. Additional amenities include coffee and tea makers, minibars, complimentary bottled water and refrigerators.
Expert Tip. Klai Kangwon Palace was built in the 1920s as a summer palace for King Rajakhipok and Queen Rambai Barni. The complex, which resembles a mansion more than a palace, is still used for that purpose today, although it is open to the public when the royals are not in residence. A formal manicured garden includes Balinese sculptures, lamps, nautical instruments and sundials. One section is a topiary garden. The palace also houses a shell museum with an impressive collection.
