Hotel Features. Set in the city's Latin Quarter, La Cour des Augustins is spread over two traditional properties dating from the 1850s and linked by an inner courtyard. The interiors of the hotel are characterised by high concept contemporary decor with unique, modern furnishings, chic lighting design, and sleek wooden floors, and are offset by traditional features including a winding stone staircase. The hotel houses a permanent exhibition of African art and offers an interior design boutique, and the 24 hour multilingual concierge is on hand to assist with sightseeing needs and book restaurants and beauty appointments. From Geneva International Airport (GVA):
Distance to the La Cour des Augustins is 6 kilometres, approximately 15 minutes' drive.
Getting there. The airport's train station is a 300 metre walk from the Arrivals and Departures floors. All trains stop at the central Geneva Cornavin station, and departures are approximately every 20 minutes. Single tickets cost 5 CHF. From Geneva Cornavin, take Tram 13 towards Palette or Tram 14 towards Bachet, and alight at Pont d'Arve, 100 metres from the hotel. Bus number 10 runs every 10 minutes to the city centre. Bus number 18 runs every 30 minutes to the United Nations building. Single tickets cost 2.20 CHF. Aero Ski Bus serves many French ski stations, and tickets can be purchased at the airport. Taxis wait in the terminal forecourt and cost about 50 CHF to the hotel. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Geneva is served by an excellent tram and bus network. Tickets must be purchased in advance from vending machines, and validated prior to boarding. One day passes are available, offering unlimited travel on trains, trams, buses, and 'mouette' water taxis. |
