Location. The Hotel Duque de Nájera is located by the beach in Rota, Spain, 100 metres from the harbour and 900 metres from the town centre. Cadiz is 45 kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Situated in the old quarter of Rota, overlooking the Bay of Cadiz, the Hotel Duque de Nájera is a terracotta-coloured Moorish stone property surrounded by gardens. The lobby comprises a palm-filled central atrium, and the lounge is furnished in dark wood and is hung with antique oil paintings. The oval outdoor pool affords views over Andalusia and features a separate children's pool. The hotel also offers a fitness centre, sauna steam room and a solarium with panoramic views. Other amenities include currency exchange, limited hours room service and garage parking.
The Duque de Nájera's restaurant, El Embarcadero is brightly decorated and features beamed ceilings and antique rugs. Local fish dishes and Spanish and European fare are offered buffet style and a la carte, accompanied by local wines. El Bergantin serves coffee and homemade pastries and offers views over the pool. The El Arrecife poolside bar offers a lunch menu, tapas and drinks, including regional sherries. A complimentary buffet breakfast is offered every morning.

Guestrooms. There are 92 rooms spread over four floors at the Duque de Nájera. All feature soft, terracotta-painted walls, pale marble floors, dark-wood antique-style furniture and patterned soft furnishings. Amenities include satellite television, high speed Internet connections and minibars. Bathrooms offer tubs, showers, telephones and complimentary toiletries.
Expert Tip. The coast along Rota offers 16 kilometres of beaches, the major ones being Playa de la Costilla, Rompidillo, Playa de la Ballena and Punta Candor. Situated right on the Atlantic, these beaches are havens for windsurfers.
