The Banyan Tree Seychelles is a resort of stunning villas surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, nestled at the foot of a mountain on the island of Mahe. The resort covers an area of approximately 117 hectares on the island's southwestern coastline with a fabulous palm tree lined beach frontage of 800 meters. Combining contemporary and plantation-style decor, the 47 air-conditioned villas have been built and furnished using indigenous materials, sleek Asian style furnishings and ethnic textiles and ornaments. All have private pools with sun loungers and pool decks, some with hot tubs. Amenities include bathrobes, CD players, televisions and tea/coffee making facilities. In the restaurant Au Jardin D'Epices guests can sample an exotic dinner menu including traditional Creole recipes, Mediterranean cuisine and dishes from Mauritius and South Africa all made with fresh local ingredients. Guests can eat on the romantic outdoor terrace, which overlooks the Indian Ocean. In Saffron, dishes from South East Asia are served in an contemporary setting with exotic furnishings and an authentic South East Asian feel. La Varangue serves a wide range of drinks and snacks; guests can enjoy a cocktail on the veranda as they watch the sun set. In the Lobby Lounge herbal teas and Arabian coffees are served alongside pastries, scones and cakes. Fresh fruit cocktails and other drinks are served at the pool bar. Staff can arrange romantic beach barbecues for guests or prepare picnic hampers for island-hopping excursions to World Heritage sites like the Vallée de Mai, home to the coco-de-mer double nut and bird and tortoise colonies. Guests can unwind in the spa where a wide variety of massage and beauty treatments are available, drawing on Asian traditions dating back centuries. The resort also has an infinity pool and well equipped gym and seasonal water sports are available. The Seychelles' capital, Victoria, the Natural History Museum and botanical gardens are all three kilometres from the hotel. Seychelles International Airport is 20 kilometres away.
