Quinta do Lago is a top class hotel, set amidst 2000 acres of rolling hills and pine forests, overlooking the estuary of Ria Formosa. The hotel is situated 800 meters from the beach and is within 1.5 kilometers of championship golf courses. The 141 air conditioned guestrooms combine floral prints and warm colors with traditional furnishings. All rooms have private terraces overlooking the sea, gardens or golf course, while inside, all feature bathrobes, slippers, hairdryers and full sized bars of soap, as well as satellite television, two direct-dial telephones and minibars.
Diners have wide range of eating and drinking options, from traditional Portuguese and international dishes with to Italian cuisine served to the gentle sound of live guitar musics. The Laguna bar has sweeping ocean views and serves drinks and cocktails, and guests can always order up room service, available round the clock. Guests can enjoy spa and massage treatments, swim in the heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, unwind in the spa tub, Turkish baths and sauna, work out in the fitness center or relax with a game of table tennis or snooker. There are two floodlit tennis courts, a horse riding center, water sports and fishing center. The concierge is on hand to organize a wide range of activities from scuba diving and jet-skiing to fishing and water park trips. There are also ten golf courses near the hotel, including four championship courses and a golf school within the grounds. Faro Airport is 20 kilometers away, and taxis can be caught from outside the airport, although a hire car is recommended if guests wish to explore the surrounding area.
