Location. The Grand Mauritian, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, is located in Turtle Bay, Mauritius, five kilometres from Pamplemousses Garden and within 15 kilometres of Grand Bay, the Caudan Waterfront, and Port Louis.
Hotel Features. Overlooking the Indian Ocean and spread over ten hectares, this spa resort hotel features three onsite restaurants, a cocktail bar, two heated swimming pools, a spa, health club, and kids' club.
European buffet dishes and an a la carte menu of Thai, Middle Eastern, Mauritian, and Indian cuisine are served at the modern Season Restaurant with its show kitchen and four dining areas. Guests can dine al fresco at the timber terraces around the hotel's tropical gardens, overlooking the beach. Traditional Tuscan and Umbrian dishes, and Italian wines are offered at the Brezza restaurant. Light snacks and drinks are served at the poolside restaurant and bar, Reflections. Cocktails, light snacks, and live music are offered at Bar 68. Complimentary breakfasts are served each morning.
The Mandara spa features a sauna, massage treatment room, spa and beauty treatments. Aerobics and tennis are offered on site. Water sports available include parasailing, scuba diving, snorkelling, water polo, and kayaking. A driving range golf course, fishing, and bicycle rentals can be found nearby.
Three meeting rooms are available to business guests and wireless Internet access is offered throughout this hotel.
Guestrooms. Housed throughout 15 villas, guestrooms are decorated in soft tones of ivory, taupe, and duck egg blue and have balconies with ocean views and separate seating areas. From Mauritius Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU):
Distance to The Grand Mauritian, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, is 50 kilometres, approximately 60 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Taxis are available at the airport and should cost about 1500 RU to the Grand Mauritian, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa. Price is subject to change.
Getting around. Buses and metered taxis are available. Taxis have black and white registration plates. Bicycles are popular for exploring the area, and are available for hire nearby. A car is recommended for visiting the less touristy parts of the island.
Driving directions. Depart Mauritius Airport.
Head north and continue forwards through Port Louis in the direction of North Grand Baie.
Follow the signs to Balaclava to the Grand Mauritian, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa.
