Location. The Metropolitan Palace Hotel is located in Sin El Fil, a district of Beirut, Lebanon, eight kilometres from several shopping and entertainment centres. The historical sights of downtown Beirut are 10 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. A landmark on Beirut's skyline, the Metropolitan Palace Hotel is a curved 16 storey tower. There are spa facilities including an outdoor swimming pool with children's pool, sauna, and steam bath. The Metropolitan's marble tiled lobby has a grand piano and tea and coffee is served in a lounge bar. Valet parking is available for a surcharge.
There are three restaurants at the Metropolitan Palace: Venezia serves Italian dishes; Summer Palace offers Chinese dishes complemented by Mongolian barbecues with panoramic views; Al Shindagah presents Lebanese and European buffets.
There are eight conference rooms and a business centre offering secretarial services on site.
The hotel offers aerobics classes, tennis courts, and a fitness centre. The 18 hole course at the Lebanon Golf Club is 15 kilometres away.
Guestrooms. The 183 air conditioned guestrooms at the Metropolitan Palace Hotel have modern furnishings in warm colours and dark woods. All rooms have direct dial phones, safes, desks, minibars, and satellite television; DVD, video, and CD players, and wireless Internet are available for surcharge. Bathrooms have jetted tubs, showers, shaving mirrors, bidets, and complimentary toiletries. Complimentary mineral water, a fruit platter, and newspapers are provided on arrival.
Expert Tip. The outdoor cafes of the market square Souk El Barghout provide ample opportunity for people watching. The Corniche, a seafront promenade, is also a gathering place with coastal views including the dramatic Pigeon Rocks. |

From Beirut International Airport (BEY): Distance to the Metropolitan Palace Hotel is 12 kilometres, approximately 12 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Yellow taxis wait at the airport and cost approximately 25 USD to central Beirut and 22 USD to the hotel. The hotel can send a taxi to collect guests at the airport on request. Buses run to the city centre from the airport roundabout, which is located one kilometre away from the terminal building. White and blue OCFTC buses 7 and 10 run to central Beirut. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. The city is well served by buses, which can be hailed on the street. Minibuses and buses run from the Charles Helou bus station to locations north of Beirut. The Cola transport hub links the city to locations in the south. Taxis are readily available, and are popular for travelling around Lebanon. |
