Location. The Hotel Cortese is located in the picturesque Piedmontese town of Armeno, in the north- east of Italy. The town nestles in the foothills of the Alps and is surrounded by lakes, including Lake Orto and Lake Maggiore, which are both less than 10 kilometres away. Orta railway station is 3.5 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Opened in 2005, the Hotel Cortese makes use of local stones and wrought ironwork to combine modern and traditional features. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool with sun terrace and poolside bar, surrounded by extensive grounds.
Hotel Cortese offers a complimentary buffet breakfast. The restaurant also serves a la carte Italian meals for lunch and dinner, with special children's and vegetarian menus available.
A small meeting room and conference spaces with audiovisual equipment are available at the hotel. Business and secretarial services are also on offer.
In addition to the swimming pool, there is a solarium and fully equipped fitness suite. Guests can hire bicycles from the hotel to explore the surrounding countryside. There is also a golf course nearby.
Guestrooms. The 34 air-conditioned guestrooms all have balconies with views of the surrounding countryside. Each room has a fireplace, satellite television, complimentary bottled water, designer toiletries and a minibar. Internet access is available for a surcharge.
Expert Tip. Lake Orta has an island, Isola San Guilio, which can be reached by boat. The island has several picturesque buildings including a church named after a fourth-century saint. |
