The Hotel Galileo is a practical and cheerfully decorated hotel set in a tranquil part of Rome, 150 metres from the subway station and two kilometres from most of the city's historic attractions. Air conditioned guestrooms with simple white interiors and warm toned fabrics extend to balconies and offer satellite television, direct dial phones, safes, minibars and hairdryers.
Guests can spend sunny afternoons unwinding with a book and a drink on the hotel's shaded garden terrace, and in the evenings the bar is open for pre dinner drinks or a nightcap. Multilingual staff at the concierge desk can provide sightseeing tips and arrange bookings, and guests can opt to use the hotel's airport shuttle service. Guests arriving by car can park in the underground garage for a daily fee. Although the hotel does not have its own restaurant, the local neighbourhood offers many dining choices. Tourists will find themselves within a kilometre of sights such as the Baths of Diocletian Planetarium, the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica and the Galleria Borghese. Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Coliseum and Palazzo Nuovo are all two kilometres away. Rome's main train station, Termini, is 280 metres from the hotel and Rome Fiumicino Airport is 30 kilometres and a 30 minute drive away. |

There is an express train service every 30 minutes to Rome's Termini train station (journey time 30 minutes). A single ticket costs around 10 EUR. Taxis are readily available at the airport, but take a licensed metered taxi only. An airport surcharge is payable. A taxi to the city centre will cost 50 60 EUR. Rome's efficient integrated transportation system includes buses, trams, subway (metro) and suburban trains. Tickets should be bought before boarding and are available from ATAC ticket machines and all tobacconists. The city centre is easily negotiated on foot. Traffic in Rome is often busy and chaotic so driving is not generally recommended. |
