Location. The Candia Hotel is located in the centre of Athens, Greece, opposite the central railway station and the Larissis Metro station. Athens Airport is 28 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. The Candia Hotel is a modern, six storey building which extends to a roof garden, complete with swimming pool and poolside bar. From here, views of the Acropolis and Athens city can be enjoyed. Multilingual staff at the 24 hour front desk can assist with luggage storage and safe deposit boxes, and can help with sightseeing tours.
The Candia has an à la carte restaurant serving Greek specialities. There is also a small bar. A complimentary American style buffet breakfast is served each morning.
Guestrooms. The 142 air conditioned guestrooms open onto balconies, with views of the city. Decor is modern with patterned fabrics and wooden furnishings. Amenities include satellite television, Internet connections, direct dial phones, and safes. Bathrooms come with hair dryers.
Expert Tip. Two kilometres from the hotel, Hadrian's Arch was built in 131 AD by the Roman Emperor Hadrian, and was part of a wall separating the old city from the new. The gate was constructed of marble, taken from nearby Mount Pentelikon. |

From Athens Airport (ATH):
Distance to Hotel Candia is 28 kilometres, approximately 45 minutes' drive.
Getting there. From Athens International the blue metro line goes up to Syntagma. From there, the red metro in the direction of Ag Antonios goes straight to Stathmos Larissis metro station, 20 metres from the hotel. An alternative is the suburban railway from the airport to Stathmos Larissis. A typical taxi fare is 50 EUR. Prices are subject to change.
Getting around. Public transport throughout Athens is inexpensive and convenient. Services include buses, trams, trolley buses, and a metro service. Tickets should be validated at the orange machines on board or in metro stations. Taxis are also available and are reasonably priced. Visitors are advised not to drive in the city.
Driving directions. From Athens airport, take the Attiki Avenue in the direction of Athens.
From there, take the Acharnon exit.
Travel under the bridge to the other side of the E75, the beginning of Acharnon Avenue.
Continue straight.
At Acharnon, turn right into Ioulianou Street, which leads to Larissis Station, where the hotel is located.
