Location. Le Meridien Dahab Resort is located in Dahab, Egypt, a bohemian resort overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba. Situated within 50 metres of the beach, the resort is also less than 15 kilometres from the famous Blue Hole dive spot. Sharm el Sheik is 80 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Built in an architect designed mix of contemporary and traditional Egyptian style, with archways and whitewashed walls, Le Meridien Dahab Resort has stunning views of the ocean and the desert mountains behind. Facilities onsite include a shopping arcade, all hours room service, a concierge desk and kids' club.
A complimentary buffet breakfast is served daily. The hotel has three dining options. Vie is an Asian fusion dining room serving Thai style food cooked to order in an open kitchen. Sea Breeze is a buffet restaurant also with a live cooking station, an al fresco dining area, and entertainment at weekends. Sails, located on the beach, specialises in romantic à la carte dinners.
There is a business centre, and small meeting rooms are available for events if required.
A wide range of recreation options is available, including five swimming pools, a spa pool and sauna, a beauty therapy suite, a dive centre, a water sports centre, and a billiards room.
Guestrooms. The 182 air conditioned guestrooms have private balconies with ocean views. Each room also has a garden blooming with desert flowers, and a private outdoor shower. Decorations are in sumptuous reds and gold, and reminiscent of a contemporary Bedouin style. Amenities include 26" LCD televisions with satellite, minibars, and wireless Internet access. From Sharm el Sheik Airport (SSH):
Distance to Le Meridien Dahab Resort is 80 kilometres, approximately 60 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Taxis operate direct from Sharm El Sheik airport. Fares may be negotiated in advance. Alternatively, the hotel may offer airport transfers for a surcharge.
Getting around. It may be easier to join organised tours to attractions such as St Catharine's Monastery, as desert driving can be challenging for inexperienced travellers. |
